I was the child every teacher dreaded because I cried all the time. My favorite memories of Head Start are the songs, the books, the food and the caring teachers.

Dora's Story

Dora attended head start at Child-Parent Centers (CPC) in 1967. She has worked at CPC for 17 years. In 2013 she was promoted to Director of Program Services.

"I was the child every teacher dreaded" Dora remembers, "because I cried all the time". Even though Dora was a crier, she remembers the songs, the books, the food and the caring Head Start teachers. The program gave her strong foundation for learning. And with her Father's proclamation she had go to college, Dora was on the path to success. For the past 17 years she has worked at Child-Parent Centers, and says, "I still love what Head Start did for me and how we continue to make a positive difference in the lives of the families we serve".
